Westmed Ambulance Service, a California Corporation, was founded in 1995. Headquartered in San Leandro, California, Westmed’s operations now encompass the entire San Francisco Bay Area, deploying ambulances daily and employing dedicated professionals.

As a result of our commitment to the needs of our customers, as well as the quality of our employees, Westmed provides ambulance transportation to over 300 different medical facilities in Northern California each year. From our 24 hour Call Center, Westmed provides a one stop opportunity for customers to fill their transportation needs.

Don't have an EMT license?
Sign Up for one of our EMT courses at Bay Area Training Academy (BATA).

5-Week and 8-Week EMT academies in Alameda and Santa Clara County.
​
Upon completing the EMT course and earning state licensure, BATA graduates are eligible to apply for employment with Westmed Ambulance Service. Qualified applicants will be invited to interview for current openings across various service areas.
​
Newly hired EMTs can expect starting wages between $25 and $30 per hour, based on shift type, schedule, and assignment availability.
