Rising star scholarship

At Westmed, our success is deeply rooted in the dedication of our diverse team and the communities they represent. Recognizing the importance of giving back, we are proud to announce the launch of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) scholarship program to ignite the careers of promising individuals who have a passion for healthcare. Our objective is to foster partnerships with organizations serving underrepresented segments of our community, providing valuable opportunities for those in need of economic empowerment and support. Through these collaborations, we strive to play a pivotal role in nurturing a skilled and compassionate healthcare workforce, contributing to the overall enrichment of the communities we serve.

As a proud recipient of the Rising Star EMT scholarship, you will benefit from comprehensive support covering 100% of your tuition, uniforms, and textbooks exclusively at Bay Area Training Academy, the Bay Areas #1 rated EMT Academy. Going beyond financial assistance, Westmed is committed to your professional growth. We offer access to mentorship, hands-on industry experience, and ongoing educational support. Scholarship recipients who are hired by Westmed will also receive continued educational financial support (full time employees qualify for up to $9,000 in additional educational reimbursement for those progressing into higher level medical careers). This holistic approach ensures not only the fulfillment of your academic needs but also lays the foundation for a successful and rewarding career in the healthcare industry.

Upon successfully completing training and graduating from Bay Area Training Academy, scholarship recipients will become eligible for immediate employment for a range of employers including, but not limited to private ambulance companies, State and Local Fire Departments, government agencies, Parks and Wildlife, Hospitals and medical facilities, just to name a few. Certified EMTs have the potential to earn up to an industry standard of $55,000 to 75,000 annually, including overtime pay. Westmed's current pay structure is higher than the industry standard. The training received at BATA serves as a steppingstone toward a rewarding and multifaceted journey as first responders and healthcare professionals. Beyond the initial role, many EMTs choose to advance their careers such as paramedics, firefighters, registered nurses, and physician assistants.
